Symmetry Spotlight: Mark Longmore

Mark Longmore, Associate Director of Operations Platform Technology, shares his Symmetry experience.

What led you to a career in finance?

I started out in the industry helping Financial Advisors get the most out of technology, then I worked for some software companies before I found Symmetry. It was a place where I could marry the financial investment world with the technology world.

It’s been a great fit for me. I like the vision of the company—always wanting to do what’s in the best interest of the client. And the culture is awesome. It’s got that small company vibe, teamwork, and collaboration focus that I flourish on.

What is Symmetry’s differentiator?

Our differentiator is delivering a comprehensive solution to Advisors. That and our consultative approach. We build partnerships with our clients. It’s not just simply product delivery. We’re working with the Advisors in all aspects of their business from business development to marketing to technology consulting to operations and back office support.

What’s the most important way you help Symmetry’s clients?

By helping Advisors navigate the ever-evolving technology landscape in the industry. I think we can all agree that technology evolves faster than a lot of us can keep up with. So, my team and I are always seeing what technology is out there. How can Advisors and our clients use technology the best they can to optimize their business and the processes they’re trying to do for their clients?

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Always be listening to your colleagues or clients. Have a client-centric mindset and the willingness to learn. That way you’re always continuing to grow in your career and grow with the company. At the end of the day, do what’s best for our clients.

Our firm runs on talent, skill, experience, and teamwork. Watch the Symmetry Spotlight video series to learn more about the professionals behind Symmetry’s client services, marketing, and investment strategies.

Investing involves risk, including the loss of some or all of your principal. Diversification seeks to reduce volatility by spreading your investment dollars into various asset classes to add balance to your portfolio. Using this methodology, however, does not guarantee a profit or protection from loss in a declining market.
